Rollo (Viking leader)

Rollo was a Norse Viking leader, known for his role in the late 9th and early 10th centuries. He is best recognized for founding the duchy of Normandy in present-day France. Rollo and his warriors raided parts of France before negotiating a settlement with King Charles the Simple, receiving land in exchange for loyalty and the promise to protect against further Viking invasions.
