Rolling Thunder

Rolling Thunder was a sustained bombing campaign conducted by the United States during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1968. Its primary objective was to weaken North Vietnam's ability to support the Viet Cong insurgency in South Vietnam and to boost the morale of the South Vietnamese government. The campaign involved extensive airstrikes over North Vietnam, targeting military and industrial sites. However, it faced criticism for its limited effectiveness and the high civilian casualties it caused, ultimately leading to a reevaluation of U.S. military strategy in the region.
