Rolf Ganger (Rollo)

Rolf Ganger, commonly known as Rollo, was a Viking leader in the 9th century, famously recognized as the founder of the Norman state in what is now France. He led a group of Norsemen, known as the Northmen, who settled in the region of Normandy. Rollo is significant for his role in bridging Viking culture with the Frankish territories, eventually accepting Christianity and forming alliances with local rulers. His legacy is pivotal in the development of medieval Europe, as his descendants, the Normans, would later play a crucial role in the conquest of England in 1066.
