Ringworm
Ringworm is a common fungal infection that causes a red, itchy, and circular rash on the skin. Despite its name, it isn’t caused by a worm. The fungus thrives in warm, moist environments and can be spread through skin-to-skin contact or by sharing personal items like towels or sports equipment. It can affect various body parts, including the scalp, feet (athlete's foot), and groin (jock itch). Treatment typically involves antifungal creams or medications. Maintaining good hygiene and keeping skin dry can help prevent ringworm.
