rhetorical ecology

Rhetorical ecology is the study of how communication and persuasion interact with the environment in which they occur. It examines the various contexts—social, cultural, and physical—that shape messages and influence how they are received. Just as plants and animals interact within an ecosystem, different forms of communication (like advertising, speeches, or social media) coexist and affect one another. Understanding rhetorical ecology helps us see how our messages can be shaped by their surroundings and how they can impact audiences in multiple ways, allowing for richer interpretations of communication in diverse settings.
