Reticulitermes

Reticulitermes is a genus of termites commonly known as subterranean termites. These small insects live in colonies underground and can cause significant damage to wooden structures, homes, and plants as they feed on cellulose found in wood and other plant materials. They are social creatures, working together in a sophisticated system with different roles, such as workers, soldiers, and reproduction. Effective pest control is important as they can be difficult to detect until considerable damage occurs. Their presence is often marked by mud tubes and a hollow sound when tapping on affected wood.
