Relative humidity
Relative humidity is a measure of how much moisture is in the air compared to the maximum amount it can hold at a given temperature. It’s expressed as a percentage; for instance, 50% relative humidity means the air is holding half the moisture it can potentially hold at that temperature. High relative humidity can make the air feel warmer and more uncomfortable because it reduces the effectiveness of sweat evaporation, while low relative humidity can lead to dry skin and respiratory issues. It's an important factor in weather, comfort levels, and climate control.
