Red International of Labor Unions
The Red International of Labor Unions, also known as the Red Trade Union International (RTUI), was an international organization founded in 1921 by communist and socialist groups to unify workers' unions worldwide under a communist ideology. Its goal was to promote workers’ rights while advancing revolutionary socialism, often opposing more moderate or non-communist labor organizations. The RTUI sought to coordinate international strikes and protests, advocate for worker control of industries, and spread communist ideas globally. It operated until 1929, when it was dissolved amid political shifts and disagreements within the international labor movement.
