Recovery Point Objective
Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is a crucial concept in disaster recovery and data management. It defines the maximum acceptable amount of data loss measured in time. Essentially, RPO tells you how much data you can afford to lose during a disruption, such as a system failure or cyberattack. For instance, if your RPO is set to 4 hours, you should regularly back up your data so that, in the event of an incident, you can restore your systems and only lose up to 4 hours' worth of information. This helps organizations plan for data protection and recovery effectively.
