Ratko Mladić is a former Bosnian Serb military leader who played a significant role during the Bosnian War (1992–1995). He commanded the Army of Republika Srpska and was involved in key events such as the siege of Sarajevo and the Srebrenica massacre, where thousands of Bosniak men and boys were killed. His actions and leadership have been widely condemned as war crimes and genocide. In 2017, Mladić was convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and sentenced to life imprisonment, marking a landmark effort for international justice regarding the conflicts in the Balkans.
