Quantum Meruit

Quantum meruit is a legal principle that allows a person to recover payment for services rendered when a contract has not been formally completed, or when there is no contract at all. It essentially means "as much as he has earned." If someone provides goods or services and the other party benefits, the provider can claim compensation for the value of what they've done, even if an agreement wasn't finalized. This remedy is often used when a contract has been breached or when there was an expectation that payment would be made for the services.
