Qorikancha

Qorikancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, was an important Inca temple located in Cusco, Peru. It served as a center for worshiping the sun god Inti, reflecting the Incas' deep reverence for the sun as a vital source of life. The temple was known for its impressive architecture and was originally adorned with gold, symbolizing wealth and power. After the Spanish conquest in the 16th century, much of the original structure was destroyed, and a colonial church was built on its foundations.
