Pupil light reflex

The pupil light reflex is a natural response of the eye to changes in light. When bright light shines into the eye, the pupils contract to reduce the amount of light entering, protecting the retina from overload. Conversely, in dim light, the pupils dilate to allow more light for better vision. This reflex involves the brain, which processes the light information and signals the muscles in the iris (the colored part of the eye) to adjust the pupil size. It serves as an important indicator of neurological health and function.
