Pulmonary circulation

Pulmonary circulation is the process by which deoxygenated blood from the body is sent to the lungs. The right side of the heart pumps this blood into the pulmonary arteries, which carry it to the lungs. In the lungs, the blood releases carbon dioxide and absorbs fresh oxygen. The now oxygen-rich blood then returns to the left side of the heart through pulmonary veins, ready to be pumped out to the rest of the body. This cycle ensures that your blood stays rich in oxygen and free of carbon dioxide, supporting vital organ function.
