Property Lien

A property lien is a legal claim against a property that gives a lender or creditor the right to take possession of the property if a debt is not paid. For example, if you borrow money to buy a house and don't repay the loan, the lender can enforce the lien to recover their funds by selling the property. Liens can arise from mortgages, unpaid taxes, or other debts. They generally must be resolved before the property can be sold or transferred, ensuring that the creditor gets paid before any remaining proceeds go to the property owner.
