Proletcult
Proletcult, short for Proletarian Culture, emerged in early 20th-century Russia alongside the Bolshevik Revolution. It aimed to develop a distinct cultural identity rooted in the working class, promoting art, literature, and education that reflected the experiences and aspirations of workers. Proletcult sought to replace bourgeois cultural values with revolutionary ideas, emphasizing collective creativity and the importance of the proletariat in shaping society. Though influential for a time, its significance declined as Soviet cultural policy shifted towards more centralized control under the Communist Party.
