Proclus

Proclus was a prominent philosopher of the Neoplatonist school in the 5th century. He built upon Plato’s ideas, emphasizing a hierarchical structure in reality where the One (the ultimate source) emanates multiple levels of existence, including the intellect (Nous) and the soul. Proclus explored themes of unity, diversity, and the divine order of the cosmos, arguing that everything in the material world reflects deeper metaphysical truths. His work sought to harmonize philosophy, religion, and science, influencing later Christian and Islamic thought while enhancing the understanding of metaphysical systems.
