Predator-Prey Models
Predator-prey models describe the interactions between two species: predators, which hunt and eat other animals (prey), and prey, which are consumed by predators. These models illustrate how the populations of both groups fluctuate over time due to their relationship. When prey populations increase, predators have more food, leading their numbers to rise. However, as predator populations grow, they consume more prey, causing the prey population to decline. This cycle continues, creating a dynamic balance in ecosystems, where changes in one population directly impact the other, reflecting the delicate interplay of survival and reproduction in nature.
