Pre-Industrial Stage

The Pre-Industrial Stage is the first phase of the Demographic Transition Model, where societies are primarily agrarian and experience high birth and death rates. Families tend to have many children, as infant mortality is high and children contribute to farming. Limited access to healthcare, education, and resources leads to short life expectancies. As a result, the population remains relatively stable but can fluctuate due to disease or famine. This stage often characterizes traditional societies before industrialization begins to change economic and social structures.
