Prägnanz (Gestalt Principle)
Prägnanz, a principle of Gestalt psychology, describes our tendency to perceive complex images or scenes in the simplest form possible. When we encounter a visual stimulus, our brains naturally organize the elements into structured patterns that make sense, often favoring symmetry and harmony over chaos. For example, when looking at a jumbled collection of shapes, we might see a familiar shape or figure instead of individual components. This principle helps us quickly make sense of the world around us, enhancing our understanding and interaction with visual information.
