Polish Second Corps
The Polish Second Corps was a military unit formed during World War II, composed mainly of Polish soldiers who had escaped from Germany and Soviet-controlled territories. Created in 1943 under British command, it fought alongside the Allies against Axis forces. The Corps played a significant role in key battles, particularly in Italy, including the Battle of Monte Cassino. Its members were notable for their commitment to reclaiming Poland's sovereignty and are remembered for their bravery and contributions to the war effort, ultimately helping to liberate parts of Europe from Nazi occupation.
