Polish People's Army
The Polish People's Army (Ludowe Wojsko Polskie) was the military force of Poland during the communist era from 1944 to 1989. Established under Soviet influence after World War II, it served as the country's main armed forces, aligned with socialist policies and the Warsaw Pact. Comprising ground forces, air force, and navy, it played a role in defending Poland within a broader Soviet-led military alliance. After 1989, with Poland's shift to democracy, the army was restructured and reformed into the modern Polish Armed Forces.
