Pleistocene Park

Pleistocene Park is a unique conservation project in northeastern Siberia, Russia, aimed at restoring the ecosystems of the Pleistocene Epoch, when large mammals like mammoths roamed the Earth. Scientists are reintroducing species such as bison, horses, and even trying to clone mammoths to recreate the ancient grassland habitats. This is believed to help combat climate change by increasing carbon capture in the soil and preventing permafrost thawing, which releases greenhouse gases.
