Platelet Adhesion

Platelet adhesion is the process by which platelets, small cell fragments in the blood, stick to damaged blood vessel walls. When a vessel is injured, it exposes collagen and other substances that attract platelets. These platelets then clump together and adhere to the site of injury, forming a temporary plug to help stop bleeding. This is a crucial part of the body's natural healing process, as it prevents excessive blood loss and initiates repair mechanisms within the injured tissue.
