Personal Claims
Personal claims in the context of creditor's rights refer to legal demands made by a creditor against a debtor for repayment of a debt. When someone borrows money or receives goods/services on credit, they create a personal claim where the creditor can seek repayment. If the debtor fails to pay, the creditor may take legal action to recover the owed amount. This can include suing the debtor, leading to a court judgment that allows the creditor to take further steps, such as garnishing wages or seizing assets, to satisfy the debt.
