People Power I
People Power I refers to the nonviolent revolution in the Philippines, which took place from February 22 to 25, 1986. It marked the end of President Ferdinand Marcos's two-decade authoritarian rule. Mass protests, led by a coalition of citizens, activists, and the Catholic Church, called for democratic reforms and the return of a fair government. The peaceful demonstrations culminated in millions gathering along EDSA, a major highway in Manila, ultimately leading to Marcos's exile and the restoration of democracy under President Corazon Aquino. This event highlighted the power of collective action in effecting political change.
