Palamism
Palamism is a theological and philosophical framework developed by Saint Gregory Palamas in the 14th century, primarily within Eastern Orthodox Christianity. It emphasizes the distinction between God's essence (His true nature, which is inaccessible) and His energies (manifestations of His presence and action in the world). According to Palamism, while God's essence remains unknowable to humans, we can experience His energies through prayer, sacraments, and the mystical life. This understanding promotes a relationship with God that is both transcendent and immanent, allowing for divine communion without compromising the divine mystery.
