Packing efficiency refers to how well objects or particles fill a given space without leaving gaps. In general knowledge, this concept is often applied to fields like chemistry and materials science, where it describes the arrangement of atoms in solids. A higher packing efficiency means that more volume of the material is occupied by the particles, resulting in denser and often stronger structures. For example, in metals, atoms are packed efficiently to maximize strength, whereas in foam, the low packing efficiency leaves significant empty spaces for cushioning.
