The Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), or Organization of American States (OAS), is a regional organization founded in 1948 to promote democracy, human rights, and economic cooperation among its member countries in the Americas. It aims to foster peaceful resolutions to conflicts and support social progress. The OAS facilitates dialogue and collaboration among its 35 member states, which include countries from North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. Through various initiatives and programs, the OEA addresses political, social, and economic issues affecting the region.
