Ordinal data
Ordinal data refers to a type of information that can be categorized and ranked but does not have a consistent scale between those ranks. For example, think of a satisfaction survey where responses are rated as "poor," "fair," "good," and "excellent." While you can arrange these responses in order (from poor to excellent), the difference between "fair" and "good" isn’t the same as between "good" and "excellent." Thus, ordinal data helps us understand relative positions or rankings but does not provide precise measurements between those positions.
