Operation Quicksilver
Operation Quicksilver was a World War II deception strategy used by the Allies to mislead the German military about the location and timing of their attacks. Specifically, it aimed to create the false impression that the main Allied invasion would occur at Pas de Calais, while the actual invasion took place in Normandy on June 6, 1944 (D-Day). The Allies used fake radio traffic, decoy soldiers, and misleading information to convince the Germans to divert troops and resources away from Normandy, enhancing the success of the invasion.
