1st United States Army Group

The First United States Army Group (FUSAG) was a large military formation during World War II, primarily responsible for strategic deception. Its purpose was to trick German forces into thinking that a significant attack was imminent at one location, while the actual invasion happened elsewhere. This was part of the broader Allied strategy during the D-Day invasion in 1944. FUSAG included fake equipment, radio chatter, and simulated troop movements to create the illusion of a massive force, helping to divert German defenses and increase the chances of a successful invasion in Normandy.
