Officiousness
Officiousness, in the context of unjust enrichment, refers to situations where someone provides a benefit to another person without being requested or needed to do so. If this unsolicited help results in the other person gaining a financial advantage, the provider may seek compensation. Essentially, it addresses instances where one party enriches themselves at the expense of another who didn't consent to the benefit or bear the costs. This principle aims to prevent unfair situations where one person profits without justly compensating the one who inadvertently contributed to that gain.
