Office of Disability Adjudication and Review
The Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR) is part of the Social Security Administration in the United States. Its main role is to conduct hearings and make decisions on appeals for disability benefits. When individuals believe their application for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) has been denied unfairly, they can request a hearing. ODAR judges, known as Administrative Law Judges, review the case, listen to testimony, and determine whether the claimant qualifies for benefits based on their medical condition and ability to work.
