Disability Determination Services

Disability Determination Services (DDS) are state-level agencies that evaluate applications for Social Security disability benefits. When someone applies for these benefits, DDS reviews their medical records, employment history, and other relevant information to assess whether their condition meets specific criteria set by the Social Security Administration.
