Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH)
Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) is a type of rechargeable battery commonly used in portable electronics, hybrid vehicles, and more. It consists of positive nickel oxide and negative metal hydride materials, allowing it to store and release energy efficiently. NiMH batteries offer a higher capacity than older nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries and are less harmful to the environment, as they contain no toxic cadmium. They can be recharged hundreds of times, making them cost-effective and sustainable for users. While they perform well, their performance can decline in extreme temperatures compared to other battery types like lithium-ion.
