Ngo Bao Chau is a Vietnamese mathematician known for his significant contributions to number theory and algebraic geometry. Born in 1972 in Hanoi, he moved to France for further studies, where he developed the groundbreaking "Chau's proof," which resolved a major problem in mathematics related to the Langlands Program—a theory connecting number theory and geometry. In recognition of his work, he received the prestigious Clay Research Award and was named a member of the French Academy of Sciences.
