Newspeak

Newspeak is a fictional language from George Orwell's novel "1984." It was designed to limit freedom of thought and make certain ideas unthinkable by reducing the complexity of language. The government, known as the Party, aimed to eliminate words related to rebellion or individualism, thus controlling how people express their thoughts. By simplifying language and removing words, Newspeak tried to restrict the range of human thought and promote conformist ideology, ultimately ensuring totalitarian control over society. The concept serves as a warning about how language can be manipulated to suppress dissent and individuality.
