Navstar
Navstar, officially known as the Global Positioning System (GPS), is a satellite-based navigation system developed by the U.S. Department of Defense. It uses a network of satellites orbiting the Earth to provide accurate location and time information to users anywhere on the planet. By analyzing signals from at least four satellites, GPS receivers can determine their precise position in terms of latitude, longitude, and altitude. Initially designed for military use, GPS is now widely used in civilian applications, including navigation for cars, smartphones, and various outdoor activities, enhancing our ability to find our way in the world.
