National Revolutionary Party (Partido Nacional Revolucionario)
The National Revolutionary Party (Partido Nacional Revolucionario, PNR) was a political party in Mexico founded in 1929 by President Plutarco Elías Calles. It aimed to unify various revolutionary factions and establish a stable government following the Mexican Revolution. The PNR played a significant role in shaping modern Mexican politics and later evolved into the Institutional Revolutionary Party (Partido Revolucionario Institucional, PRI). The party focused on nationalism, economic reform, and social justice, influencing Mexico's political landscape for much of the 20th century, promoting a one-party system until the late 20th century when Mexico began transitioning to a more competitive democracy.
