National Negro Congress

The National Negro Congress (NNC) was an organization established in 1936 to advocate for the rights and interests of African Americans during the Great Depression era. It aimed to combat racial discrimination, promote social justice, and improve economic opportunities through activism, education, and coalition-building. The NNC brought together labor leaders, civil rights activists, and community leaders to address issues like segregation, disenfranchisement, and inequality. While it was influential in mobilizing Black communities and raising awareness of racial injustices, the NNC was often monitored and scrutinized during the era's political tensions.
