
A. Phillip Randolph
A. Philip Randolph was an influential African American labor leader and civil rights activist in the 20th century. He is best known for organizing the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, the first major labor union for Black workers. Randolph fought for equality and fair treatment of African Americans in the workplace and society. He played a pivotal role in the civil rights movement, organizing the 1963 March on Washington, where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. Randolph's advocacy helped pave the way for social and economic justice for countless individuals.
