National Grasslands

National Grasslands are protected areas in the United States dedicated to preserving grassland ecosystems. Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, these lands provide habitats for diverse wildlife, support recreational activities like hiking and birdwatching, and help conserve natural resources. Unlike National Parks, grasslands are often used for activities like grazing and farming, as well as conservation. They play a crucial role in maintaining environmental health, preventing soil erosion, and supporting local economies. There are several National Grasslands across the country, primarily found in the Great Plains region.
