National Farm Workers Association

The National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) was founded in 1962 by Cesar Chavez and others to advocate for the rights of migrant farm workers in the United States. It sought to improve working conditions, wages, and labor rights for these often exploited workers. The organization aimed to unite farm workers, raise awareness about their struggles, and negotiate better contracts with employers. Over time, the NFWA merged with other groups to form the United Farm Workers (UFW), which continues to fight for social justice and labor rights in agriculture today.
