National Farm Worker Association
The National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) was founded in 1962, primarily to advocate for the rights and better working conditions of agricultural laborers in the United States. Established by leaders like Cesar Chavez, the NFWA aimed to address issues such as low wages, poor working conditions, and lack of benefits for farm workers, many of whom were Mexican and Filipino immigrants. The organization played a key role in the labor movement, leading to significant strikes and efforts that ultimately contributed to improved labor rights and the formation of the United Farm Workers (UFW) union.
