National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)
The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is a professional organization that evaluates and accredits teacher education programs in the United States. Its goal is to ensure that these programs meet high standards of quality, which helps prepare future teachers to be effective in the classroom. NCATE assesses aspects such as curriculum, faculty qualifications, and student outcomes. Accreditation by NCATE signifies that a program has undergone a rigorous review process, making it a reliable indicator of the program's quality and effectiveness in training educators. In 2013, NCATE merged with the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) to form the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
