Nasrid dynasty
The Nasrid dynasty was the last Muslim royal family to rule in Spain, governing the Kingdom of Granada from 1238 until 1492. They emerged after the fragmentation of the Almohad Empire and fostered a rich cultural and architectural legacy, including the famous Alhambra palace. Their reign was marked by political maneuvering, including alliances with Christian kingdoms, to survive amidst Reconquista efforts. However, the dynasty ultimately fell to the Catholic Monarchs, Ferdinand and Isabella, leading to the end of Muslim rule in Spain and significant cultural shifts in the region.
