Naskh

Naskh is a term used in Islamic tradition that refers to the concept of abrogation, where later revelations in the Quran can supersede or modify earlier ones. This process acknowledges the evolving context and circumstances in which revelations were received. Essentially, it allows for some earlier rules or commands to be replaced by new ones that better address the needs of the community at a later time.
