Namdev

Namdev was a prominent 13th-century saint and poet from India, known for his devotion to Lord Vithoba, a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. He belonged to the Marathi saint tradition and is often regarded as one of the earliest saints of the Bhakti movement, which emphasized personal devotion over ritualism. Namdev's devotional hymns, or "Abhangas," express deep spiritual insights and love for God. His teachings promoted equality and compassion, transcending caste and social barriers. His legacy continues to inspire spiritual seekers and is celebrated in various religious communities, especially in Maharashtra.
