Mycosis Fungoides

Mycosis fungoides is a rare type of skin cancer that belongs to a group of disorders called cutaneous T-cell lymphomas. It occurs when certain white blood cells, called T-cells, become cancerous and start to grow uncontrollably in the skin. Initially, it may appear as red, scaly patches or plaques that can sometimes itch. As the disease progresses, it can form tumors and may spread to other parts of the body. Treatment options vary and can include topical therapies, radiation, and systemic medications, depending on the stage of the disease. Early detection is important for effective management.
